Trade Update: Ongoing AD/CVD Developments

Green Bay, WI - September 3, 2025

Dear Valued Séura Partner,

In my last letter, I shared how rulings from the U.S. Department of Commerce introduced preliminary duties on float glass imported from China and Malaysia, including LED mirrors. At that time, the rulings were still in the early stages. I want to keep you informed as the process moves forward and provide clarity on what comes next.

The U.S. International Trade Commission has now scheduled the final phase of its investigations. While earlier projections suggested outcomes in late summer, the timeline has been extended into the end of the year. Key dates include a pre-hearing brief due November 18, a hearing scheduled for November 25, and a post-hearing brief due December 2. Final determinations are expected shortly thereafter. Until then, the preliminary deposit rates set by Commerce remain in effect, and duties will continue to be applied in the same way.

As I shared before, Séura remains well positioned because of our long-standing investment in domestic production. For more than 23 years, our Wisconsin facility has assembled lighted mirrors using a thoughtful mix of domestic and globally sourced components, without reliance on Chinese float glass. Our U.S.-made products therefore remain duty-free under these rulings, providing stable, cost-protected options for your projects.

In addition, we maintain established supplier relationships in Vietnam and Thailand, with supply chain resources that are exempt from the AD/CVD deposit requirements. These partnerships provide deposit free options for select opportunities, though not every project is suited to these sourcing paths. Our team will work with you to determine if these alternatives are a good fit for your specific project requirements.

We understand that regulatory shifts like this can create uncertainty. Our focus remains on clear communication and proactive solutions. Whether it’s reviewing a pending quote, adjusting specifications, or identifying the most cost-effective sourcing path, our team is here to support you.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. We will share another update as the process reaches its next milestones. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to review a specific order or project together.

Very best,
